Nagesic® Forte, a fast, gentle and effective natural therapy for the treatment of arthritis, is now available to patients over-the-counter for the first time in Australia.

With key ingredients that were previously only available through Natural Health Practitioners, Nagesic Forte has a clinically proven two-way effect. It inhibits factors that cause cartilage degeneration and provides symptomatic relief of pain and inflammation.

Pharmacist and Medical Herbalist, Gerald Quigley, explains that unlike other arthritis relief products, which may take up to four weeks to have an effect, Nagesic Forte can be effective within two hours to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and prevent further damage to cartilage.

For most arthritis patients, this can be achieved through a single daily tablet, taken alone or in conjunction with other medications.

“Arthritis is a painful and debilitating condition that can compromise quality of life for not only older members of our community, but young people and sportspeople too,” he said.

“Traditionally people living with arthritis have had to rely on visiting a Natural Health Practitioner to get access to this treatment or continue to use less effective over-the-counter medications until their arthritis progressed to the point where they were placed on medically prescribed drugs.

“The availability of Nagesic Forte over-the-counter is great news for the estimated 3.85 million Australians who are affected by this chronic and disabling condition – giving them greater access to a gentler and effective treatment.

“All health professionals are aware of the side effects of common treatments like ibuprofen and diclofenac. Here’s an alternative which has been clinically trialled by Deakin University* and found to be just as effective, without the health risks.

“Nagesic Forte won’t cause the tummy issues usually seen in other anti-inflammatory treatments, some of which cause indigestion, interfere with kidney function or lift blood pressure,” he said.

The active ingredient of Nagesic Forte is Cumerone, which is a component of the spice turmeric. Nagesic Forte tablets have also been formulated to achieve superior absorption.

“Nagesic Forte has no known interactions, and can be used in conjunction with prescribed medications, or supplements like fish oil and glucosamine,” Gerald said.

“Nagesic Forte can be taken to relieve pain on a temporary basis, or to prevent pain on a long term basis. It’s gentle and effective either way,” he said.

Where to buy: Nagesic Forte is available nationally in all good pharmacies.
RRP: $29.95 for 30 tablets.

Gerald Quigley will be running a free 'Living with Arthritis' seminar in Ballarat (20th July) and Woodend (28th July). For more details contact, BioRevive.
