Fujitsu Australia & New Zealand, a leading provider of ICT business solutions, today announced that in a new collaboration with SAP AG, Fujitsu infrastructure customers can now quickly analyse high levels of transactional business data in real time.

Fujitsu’s certified and optimised servers, storage and network infrastructure have now been validated by SAP AG for use with the SAP ® In-Memory Appliance software (SAP HANA™), a flexible, multipurpose, data source agnostic, in-memory appliance.

SAP HANA provides enterprises with instant insight into their business operations, delivering improved system performance and lowering operational risks. The software also dramatically improves speed by analysing data within server memory, rather than offloading it to disk-based systems.

Fujitsu is among the first vendors to provide a validated platform configuration to run SAP HANA and thus provide customers with a reliable, optimised and scalable infrastructure built on its high performance PRIMERGY RX600 and RX900 rack servers, ETERNUS storage and network solutions.

Fujitsu provides an end-to-end HANA solution, from complete hardware provisioning to integration of the HANA appliance in the customer data centre, as well as developing and supporting the applications built on HANA using SAP BusinessObjects solutions. Comprehensive services also provide customers with both proactive and reactive 24x7 support, defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs), a dedicated technical account manager and regular system health checks through Fujitsu Solution Contract for SAP HANA infrastructure.

SAP itself uses Fujitsu infrastructure, among others, to run SAP HANA in its own data centres.

Les Smith, Solutions Manager SAP EPM, Business Analytics and HANA at Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand said: “We recognise that businesses need the ability to make vital choices at the speed of thought – because windows of opportunity do not stay open for long. Previous tools could not process data sufficiently quickly to support real time decision making. With SAP HANA running on and supported by Fujitsu, customers will have unparalleled insight into data, whatever the size of organisation. ”

SAP HANA is built on high-performance, industry-standard technology and is available in a range of models tailored to individual business needs. Fujitsu’s infrastructure for SAP HANA is highly scalable, consisting of eight processors support between 128GB and 1TB of main memory, running on Novell SLES, combined with Fujitsu ETERNUS storage and additional server-attached, storage memory technologies from Fusion-io. Pre-installed SAP software includes a real-time replication service for SAP ERP and an optimised, in-memory version of the SAP ® BusinessObjects Strategic Workforce Planning solution. Highly tuned integration with other business intelligence solutions from SAP ® BusinessObjects provides further insight and analytics through existing interfaces.

About the Fujitsu and SAP Partnership

Fujitsu and SAP have a long-standing partnership, covering technology, hosting and services and have already worked together on key projects such as a business warehouse accelerator. Fujitsu is a founding member of the Future SOC Lab, a research lab for on-demand systems established by SAP’s Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI). Several industry partners, among them Fujitsu and SAP, are cooperating to support research in how hardware and software can benefit from the exponential increases in main memory and massive parallel computing power.
