An Australian retailer of remedial back care products has reported an 80% increase in sales of posture support braces, as featured in the high rating Channel Nine TV series ‘Ladette to Lady’.

Bad Backs ( has reported a massive surge in online, telephone and in-store sales from young women across Australia keen to purchase a posture support brace, as prescribed by the matrons of Eggleston Hall to improve the deportment of their slouching ‘ladette’ students.

“We noticed a spike in online sales from March 12, and after receiving an influx of phone enquiries, one caller mentioned she was seeking a posture support brace like the one she had seen on ‘Ladette to Lady’, explaining the surge in sales. We received a deluge of phone calls around that time, mostly from young women, however we also received calls from mothers buying for daughters and even men,” explains Felicity Wood, Director of Bad Backs.

“While our range of shoulder and posture supports are amongst our most popular products, recent sales of this product have reached an all time high. Little did we know that ‘Ladette to Lady’ was going to cause such a Posture Support ‘sales tsunami’. And rarely do we have such a back log of unfulfilled orders, so our customer service team is working hard to meet the demand.

“Typically online customers are finding Bad Backs through Google keyword search, so I am most grateful to August - our web developers, who have made sure our CMS –ecommerce solution provides excellent search engine optimisation,” says Felicity.

Bad Backs is delighted to do their bit in helping improve the posture and self confidence for many young Aussie women, and hope to fulfil their back orders of posture support devices in the next few weeks.
