An Adelaide woman who has worked in the wedding industry for more than 20 years has developed Australia’s most comprehensive wedding plan iPhone App.

Experienced wedding planner Cindy Westphalen said there were more than 7,000 weddings in South Australia every year, and the free Wedding Girl app could be used by engaged couples to plan all aspects of their big day.

“I work with brides and grooms every week to help them plan their weddings, and what they want more than anything else is to feel informed and in control,” Cindy said.

“While those of us in the wedding industry do everything we can to help our couples stay calm and organised, we can’t be with them all the time.

“Brides are already using this technology - Australia has one of the highest per capita uses of iPhones in the world and the iPhone was the top selling smartphone in Australia last year.

“It’s time Australian couples had a tool like this to help with their big day.”

The Wedding Girl app, to be available in May, includes:

• A wedding day countdown
• The ability to search wedding suppliers by category or region
• Detailed supplier listings with 360 degree views of venues
• The option to save favourite suppliers for comparison, add suppliers to an important contacts list
• Ability to share details and images from the Wedding Girl app on Facebook or Twitter to seek advice and opinions
• Guest lists to track RSVPs, allocate table numbers and record dietary requirements
