Pharmacy 777 Whitford City has been recognised for its innovation after receiving one of just three national awards on offer as part of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia competition entitled 'Pharmacy of the Year'.

The Innovation in Professional Services Award was one of three categories in this year's contest, which is open to all Quality Care Pharmacy Program (QCCP) accredited pharmacies: excellence in business management; excellence in community engagement; and innovation in professional services.

Contributing factors to Pharmacy 777 Whitford City’s award win included a unique partnership with a nurse practitioner and last year's implementation of a 24-hour service model to provide after-hours acute healthcare to its patients.

Kim Brotherson, Managing Director, Pharmacy 777 commented on the award win and its significance to the pharmacy group.

"We are thrilled to receive such a prestigious award from the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. It is recognition of our continual focus in providing innovative services that deliver maximum convenience and most importantly being relevant to our customers," Mr Brotherson said.

"Our Whitford City Pharmacy is providing gold-standard services for our customers, which we are very pleased has been duly recognised at a national level by the industry."

Pharmacy Guild of Australia national president, Kos Sclavos said that the winners are shining examples of the strength of the community pharmacy model.

"I congratulate Pharmacy 777 Whitford City on their well deserved success," he said.

"This competition celebrates the very high standards of service achieved by Australian pharmacies who are accredited under the Quality Care Pharmacy Program."

Another of the innovative services patented by Pharmacy 777 is their Scripts Online Program, which is available across the Pharmacy 777 Group.

"The Pharmacy 777 group has been providing expert advice and services to our local community for nearly 50 years, but despite this longevity we ensure we move with the times. A key is listening to our customers. We have provided an online solution they have asked for to access and order their repeat prescriptions," said Mr Brotherson.

"The Scripts Online Program is a service only available at Pharmacy 777, again demonstrating our leadership in e-health and our commitment to providing convenient, expert solutions for our customers."

Mr Brotherson continued, "In keeping with our focus on innovation, Pharmacy 777 is also the first Australian pharmacy to offer an iPhone application designed for secure ordering of prescriptions."

Pharmacy 777 offers a spectrum of other professional health services, including Pharmacist Consultations, a diabetes support program, 'Quit-Smart Program' for smokers, 'Snore no More' sleep apnoea solutions, prescription home delivery, a weight management program, and more.

The Pharmacy 777 Foundation is another demonstration of the Group’s commitment to providing solutions for the local communities that they operate within.

Starting in 2006, the Foundation supports a number of key charities including the Teen Challenge Grace Academy of Western Australia, a charity supporting teens affected by drugs addiction and its associated problems.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia announced the award winners at the Australian Pharmacy Professional Conference on the Gold Coast.
