With product launches, relaunches and even a cocktail party on the agenda, there will be no shortage of reasons for expo-goers to visit the Halifax Vogel Group (HVG) stand at next month’s designEX 2011 in Melbourne.

Australia’s leading design and architecture event will see HVG’s specialised divisions, including Smartstone, Alucobond Architectural, HVG Decorative Building Products and Octanorm Australia, unveil their latest product offerings together at Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Among the drawcards will be the relaunched range of Smartstone engineered quartz surfaces for kitchen bench tops and splashbacks, vanity tops and bathroom walls, flooring, and many more applications.

Expo-goers will get a look at the four new Smartstone collections, which comprise a unique palette of 28 beautiful colours and patterns suitable for any application, be it horizontal or vertical, commercial or residential.

“We are proud to offer what we believe is simply the ultimate surface choice available today – and the most innovative,” said Smartstone Executive Chairman Kon Kalpou.

Alucobond Architectural’s section of the designEX stand will feature a working display of the Terracade terracotta facade system along with a feature wall demonstrating Alucobond’s fabricating abilities and latest finishes, including Alucobond Spectra, Alucobond Wood Design, Alucobond Anodized Look and Alucobond naturAL.

Available in a range of natural earthly colours, Terracade is ideal for use in both the construction of new buildings and the redesign of existing structures, large or small.

HVG Decorative Building Products will use designEX as a platform to unveil its new range of finishes and references within the CREAstyle high pressure laminate family.

Visitors will get a sneak peak at the new range, which is inspired by the latest European design trends, ahead of the formal release in late May.

“Providing an almost infinite range of design options to design professionals and specifiers, the range features 31 new trend-leading colours, finishes and references,” said David Maltby, Business Manager, Decorative Building Products, HVG.

Zenolite Plus, a superior high gloss decorative panel for shower walls, bathroom partitions and other high traffic areas in domestic and commercial environments, will also be launched at the event.

designEX 2011 will also see the return of Octanorm Australia, with the division set to showcase the latest shopfitting, store design, display and exhibition trends to come out of the recent Euroshop 2011 event in Germany.

Also on show will be Octanorm’s new iPad app for exhibition constructors, the ‘ExhibitionApp’.

Free to download, the app is designed to represent a company in a professional and innovative way at exhibitions with the help of pictures, videos, 3D animations and a link to the company website.

The HVG stand will also be a place to relax and enjoy a drink amid the hustle and bustle of designEX with the company set to host a cocktail party on Thursday 14 April from 4.30pm – 6pm.

“Relationships are as important as the products, so we’re inviting expo-goers to use our stand as a meeting point to take a break, have a drink and network with other visitors,” said Bruce Rayment, Chief Executive Officer, HVG.

Smartstone and HVG Decorative Building Products are also doing their bit to give back to the architecture and design industry, sponsoring the 2011 National Architecture Conference which is being held alongside designEX and is expected to attract more than 1000 delegates.

Visitors can find Halifax Vogel Group at stand 1230 at designEX 2011 from 13-15 April.
