Rugby fans, students, avid travellers and adventure activity junkies throughout the world are gritting their teeth with excitement with the release of the Haka for Haka Tours Competition, with a prize pack worth up to $20,000. Offering the chance to win one of two 24 day adventure tours of New Zealand, including international flights, accommodation, transport and all the adventure activities you could wish for, people are lining up in their droves to enter.

Ryan Sanders, owner of Haka Tours, stated that “the beauty about this competition is the ease of entering. For the opportunity to win this great prize, all entrants have to do is make a short video of themselves completing a Pukana (the end section of the haka when the eyes are bulging and a ferocious blaaahhh is yelled), load this onto Youtube and enter your details at the Haka Tours Facebook page to verify your entry”. The evolution of social media has enabled haka Tours to develop innovative and long term communication channels to connect with current and potential customers. This innovation in marketing and business concepts was recognised late in 2010 with the award of Asia Pacific Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

The $20,000 prize pack and success of the competition has been built around the involvement of leading New Zealand activity operations who are partners in the campaign, including AJ Hackett Bungy, Haka World, NZONE Skydiving, Kelly Tartons, Gravity Canyon, Zorb Globe Riding, Tanks for Everything, Rapid Jets, Cathedral Cove Kayaks and Fox Glacier Guides. “Without these campaign partners and their continued support, this marketing effort would not have even got off the ground” stated Sanders.

“Social media has become a major force in people’s lives and we are utilsing these new communication platforms to their fullest to better serve and communicate with our customers” stated Sanders. “We have employed the services of a specialist social media and online marketing company, termed SocialEyes, to ensure that this project is a success and we can customise the Facebook and Youtube platforms, along with marketing strategies, to increase brand awareness and long term communication channels”

The concept behind the competition is to provide an easy way for those who want to experience New Zealand during the World Cup, but are currently limited to the couch as the best spot for viewing the Rugby. “The World Cup will place New Zealand in the international media spotlight and we want to invite two lucky people to experience the best that New Zealand has to offer. We all have our part to play in promoting New Zealand as the leading tourism destination”, Sander’s stated.

So, all there is to do is enter; and make sure you tell all your friends about it as the number of views your video receives will be very influential in winning the prize. Be creative, scary or funny; whatever it takes to win the $20,000 New Zealand adventure of a lifetime with Haka Tours.
