Sunday 6 March 2011 will be the first of the inaugural MTB Enduro Super Series, run by Tailwind Promotions. This is a first for Queensland with a professionally run Super Series of mountain bike endurance racing at two venues on four unique courses with four awesome races including a 4 hour, 6 hour, 8 hour and championship 24 hour endurance race. Riders will be able to compete as individuals or in teams.
There are two awesome prizes up for grabs at the conclusion of the series - two seats on the Tailwind Promotions MTB Tour Bus for an Epic tour of the volcanic plateau of New Zealand in November 2011, which will be drawn at the final race for the series on 19th June, 2011.
The Super Series and the Flight Centre Cycle Epic will be used as a fundraiser with a goal of raising $175,000 to purchase a Sealegs Amphibious Emergency Craft that can be utilised by the Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley and Ipswich SES units. This is an epic amount of money in the tradition of endurance, persistence, commitment and grit.
The series starts with a four hour race held at Spicers Hidden Vale, Grandchester on the 6th of March with entries for solo riders, teams of 2, 3 or 4 and single speed riders. With a jumping castle for the kids, a snack and coffee van, with a sausage sizzle at lunch, it is sure to be a great day for riders, supporters and families!
