After the resounding success of the first edition of Footprints first published in 2007, Footprints ‘Off the beaten track’ - South Australia, is an exquisite coffee table book showcasing the best of South Australia’s from the locals that live here and love it. This edition is a cultural smorgasbord of some of the most beautiful images captured from photographers around South Australia; experience South Australia’s hidden secrets and meander off the beaten track in this latest Footprints book. Immerse yourself with our rich States offerings of history, sights, art, culture, shopping, things to do and of course wine to drink.

Footprints is published by a South Australian boutique publishing house, tish’n enigma books, which is headed up by Ashley Knoote-Parke. Says Ashley, “After announcing the photographic competition searching for images of South Australia through the eyes of the locals that live here and love it (open to all and sundry and free to submit), we were overwhelmed with a deluge of over 600 photographic entries 2/3rds of that from amateur photographers; our three judges had a tough choice whittling successful entries to about 350 images. The judges agreed that the winning cover shot came from Les Pullen and the winner of the back cover was Scott Goldsmith. This is the perfect way to provide a platform for professional and up and coming photographers to get their photographic art into the mainstream media, many a photography career has been launched off the back of Footprints”.

Footprints; now published every four years; was first launched in 2007 and has been the ultimate ‘take home book’ about South Australia. When researching the best way to produce this book, we asked our target audience what they wanted from a coffee table book? Readers and tourists alike said “we want lots of images with a narrative, small snippets of easy to digest information and what to see & what to do we want to be surprised” and I believe the success lies in the fact that we published a book for the people and gave them exactly what they wanted”, says Ashley.

Footprints sets itself apart as not just a reference publication but also a beautiful and lasting memento of visitors holidays in South Australia to be shared with family and friends, it also makes the perfect gift and every home should have one. This book goes all around the world and is the Premiers choice of gift from the gift cache.

Ashley’s background in media and as the owner of tish’n enigma books a boutique publishing business and prior to that a specialist design house - enabled her to manage the book in-house and produce Footprints with local resources for design, editorial and photography. Her company distributes all titles published by tish’n enigma books and is represented by her agent Tim Arthur, a veteran of the book business.

The book will be launched by Leigh McClusky on the 30th March at the Stamford where a Champagne diamond will be raffled*. The photographic exhibition and awards evening is taking place at the Light Gallery in Richmond on Friday 1st April with a silent auction* of the previous books photographic exhibition. Channel 7’s advertising campaign will coincide with the release of Footprints and will be available mid to late March 2011, from all good bookstores, select gift stores, and participating retailers as well as online.
