"My name is David Weitzman, and I’m a cosmic jewelry artist. My biggest inspiration in designing sacred and symbolic jewelry comes in knowing I can impact people’s lives. My work harnesses the power of spiritual symbols and sacred geometry from around the world to bring those wearing my sacred jewelry happiness, vitality, excitement, and love. My jewels are painstakingly crafted to work on conscious and subconscious levels to inspire people’s lives."

This is how David Weitzman describes himself as well as the way he works on his artistic creations. However, this is just a mere excerpt of who he is as a person and an artist. Much more than these descriptions, his personality and achievements in the field of jewelry design are best explained by the following Interview.

Q: What inspired you as a jewelry designer?

A: It all started when I was browsing a book tackling about ancient cultures. I became interested with the images I have seen especially in the page where I have found an image of Troy. From there, I have drawn some inspiration and fused in nature's influences to form the kind of art I will be interested in for the rest of my life, that is, jewelry design. On top of all these things, I can say that I have been truly inspired by my desire to help others.

Q: Did anybody teach you things about jewelry design?

A: Like most artists, I had my masters too. I owe my jewelry techniques from two persons – the first one is my friend, Yaniv Shapira and the other an extraordinary artist Michel Ardi. Apart from them, I have also been inspired by Judaism, Buddhism, Kabbalah and other spiritual doctrines.

Q: What makes you conceptualize more designs from time to time?

A: As a jewelry designer, I believe that I have to push hard to be able to come up with unique designs that people will love. I conceptualize my designs from every image that comes to my mind – those which I think can be carved into perfect jewelry pieces that my avid followers will surely love. I think my personal interest in this craft helps me come up with more jewelry design ideas. Every time I have a new idea in mind, I always want to pass it on to others.

Q: May we know your future plans when it comes to jewelry design?

A: I would always want to try other designs that will inspire and touch many people's lives. As I have mentioned early on, I have always drawn inspiration from my desire to help others. I would always want to work on that and I hope that people will continue appreciating everything that I have worked hard on.

Q: Can you say that you have fulfilled your dreams by exerting time and effort in jewelry designing?

A: Seriously speaking, I can say that I am living my dream. While I have been vocal about my desire to become a zoologist or archaeologist since I was a child, I can say that I love my craft now even if it means I have to forego of my childhood dreams. In jewelry design, I find contentment and that defines how I have fulfilled my dreams.
