Finding and Funding Deals in 2011: One-day property event in Adelaide, February 27, 2011
Fewer young women are able to iron a shirt, cook a roast chicken, or hem a skirt, according to a study by McCrindle Research. Yes, it’s true. Generation Y women can’t do the same chores their mothers and grandmothers did, but they are developing other skills – such as becoming property investors.
Diamonds are not a woman’s best friend anymore. Women are turning to real estate instead. According to Stewart Bunn from First National Real Estate, statistics show the number of women planning to purchase property on their own has more than doubled in the last two years alone. With record numbers of women in the workplace earning higher wages, more Australian women are following their feminine intuition to become shrewd investors and paving their way to success.
Property is a now girl’s best friend according to Property Women leaders Rachel Barnes and Judith Taylor. These girls are talking from experience; Rachel and her partner John Fowler have accumulated a portfolio of over 70 properties across Australia, New Zealand and the USA. And Judith Taylor who has learnt that a man is no financial plan, has singlehandedly bought and renovated 7 properties in 3 years.
Property Women not only introduces women to a network of experts, emphasising the importance of building your team, but also creates a forum for women to meet each other, share ideas and inspiration and support each other through their property investing adventures. It is all about empowering and inspiring women to take control of their financial futures through smart and savvy property deals. And importantly – having fun every step of the way.
Their next fun one-day event in Adelaide will be held on February 27, 2011 focusing on Finding and Funding Deals in 2011. One of the key speakers at that event is an Adelaide local, Debbie Williams, who is principal of Savvy Property People and a shining example of a go-getting woman real estate investor.
“Traditionally property has shown consistent returns over many years and is such a tangible investment, it felt comfortable to consider property investment over shares and business,” Debbie said. “I have learnt that I can have lots of fun and that I’m good at business. I have gained confidence, self-worth, financial flexibility and freedom. I like the person I have become through property and the friendships I have made, I can’t imagine what life would have been without property.”
“Women have a great intuition for investing,” she adds. “Also women don’t have the same level of ego that gets in the way of great decision making. They are tenacious and considerate when making decisions and working with others.”
The Property Women 2011 Property Tour
Property Women one-day event, Finding and Funding Deals in 2011, on February 27, 2011 from 9:30 to 2:30 P.M. in Adelaide, is designed to provide the inspiration and knowledge women need to meet their investment goals and meet other like-minded locals.
Property Women is dedicated to empowering and inspiring women by giving them the tools and networks to create pathways to success in any property market. There are many ways women can choose to participate in this process of learning through Property Women, through face-to-face workshops and seminars; a year-long ‘Brilliant Diamonds’ program; a series of self-study CD packs; overseas educational trips to a different country each year (They’re heading to Florida in the U.S in May this year), or simply the streams of regular free tips that are emailed to a network of approx. 15,000 women across Australia and New Zealand.
Property Women encourages women to have a clear goal about why they are investing and to develop their own unique strategy that serves their desired outcomes in both life and finance. Women are connected with experts in finance, tax, law, renovations, property development, property management, and property improvements and also with like-minded women who share their own personal stories of investing success and what they’ve learnt along the way.
The team at Property Women believes if you’re not having fun along the way then there’s no point doing it – and this philosophy is infused into everything they do.
