Aspiring artists are invited to paint a life size horse in Rundle Mall on 23 February to help celebrate the opening day of the Adelaide Fringe Festival “Horses on the Fringe” exhibition.

Promoting horses in our Australian community, the fibreglass horse will be painted in bright and outrageous colours with the design presided over by artist Yvette Frahn. Calls are now out for any person who would like participate in the open air art event. No previous art experience is required.

The horse arts project will help raise funds for the not-for-profit groups of Horse SA, Riding for the Disabled and the RSPCA Queensland Flood Appeal through the painting, display of the finished horse and sales featuring the image until 6 May.

Regional artist Yvette Frahn has been recognised as one of South Australia’s inspirational women successful in business, and recently featured in the book “Lounge to Boardroom”. Her works hang in public and private collections, including the South Australian Jockey Club.

“The Horses on the Fringe exhibition is a collection of works by more than a dozen artists who have a passion for horses” said Julie Fiedler, Executive Officer of Horse SA “Through the open air art experience we hope to promote the importance of horses in our Australian community and raise some much needed funds”
