LOVE is in the air for soprano Clara Helms in the lead up to Valentine’s Day.

She’s helping to provide some cosy love music at The Warehouse Café in Shenton Park on February 12 and 13.

Forget comparing thee to a summer’s day – the concerts feature an abundance of romantic classical vocal and chamber ensemble works by Handel, Mozart, Satie, Puccini and Gershwin.

Joining Helms for the love-in are Christina Katsimbardis on violin, Jacqueline O'Neill on clarinet, Irina Vasil'eva on piano and Sid Thoo narrating.

Dancing from age three in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, ballroom and Argentine tango, she has always had a love of performing.

Helms has had extensive speech and drama training, studied piano and has performed in productions such as the musicals Al Capone and The Last Maharajah and two operas in Sydney: Loves Lessons Learnt and Carmen – The Musical.

“I completed a bachelor of music in classical singing performance at the WA Academy of Performing Arts in 2009 and I have been focusing on languages at UWA, including Italian, German and French,” Helms said.

Doors open 2.30pm for a 3pm start. Tickets are $27, $22 concession.

Champagne and light refreshments will be served during the interval. For bookings, call 0402 438 173, (08) 9405 7892 or email [email protected]
