Hartwig Heller Productions is delighted to announce additional screenings of “Making a Scene – the Chelsea Cinema Story” at the historic Chelsea Cinema on Friday 25th Feb at 7pm and Saturday & Sunday 26th & 27th at 5pm.

A “Rats in the Ranks” style documentary (The Advertiser, 1st January, 2011), the film was premiered to a near capacity house on the 24th January as a single event, however subsequent emails and calls from the public have made it necessary to schedule further screenings.

Over a year in the making, the film examines the rich history of this Adelaide icon, and the recent controversy over its planned sale by the Burnside City Council.

“We started with the intention of simply documenting the history of the Chelsea Cinema but it became a far bigger project as the story unfolded” said director, Jethro Heller.

“But the controversy over the future of the Chelsea could not be ignored and developed to include politics, people power and the extraordinary measures a community will take to protect its interests.”

“Being an independent production company we were able to present the issues, characters and personalities on both sides of the debate as well as showcasing this much loved icon.”

Bookings can be made at the Chelsea Cinema on 08 8431 5080.
