An update for affected residents:

In recent days the Queensland Government has repeatedly advised residents and businesses in the flood affected regions that electricity will not be reconnected until a licensed electrical contractor conducts an inspection. They further advised that once a contractor provides written advice that the building or home was safe, the electricity would then be reconnected.

Peak industry association, the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), has established an emergency contact for flood affected residents who require an Electrical Contractor to conduct inspections.

Residents are requested to email their details to [email protected] .

NECA staff will be monitoring the email address and will assist in co-ordinating a licensed electrical contractor to contact them.

An update for electrical contractors:

If you are interested in assisting in the inspection work to help businesses and homes have their electricity reconnected please email [email protected] to register your interest.

NECA staff will be monitoring this email address and will provide you with updates on how you can assist.
