Three of Adelaide’s most dynamic health gurus are teaming up to radically revolutionise the way local Adelaideans think about health.

Chiropractor/wellness expert Dr Brett Hilll, fitness trainer/health consultant Duncan Maxwell and naturopath/chef John Bresland will be blasting common health myths out of the water during a weekend health retreat designed to help people eat, think and exercise in life-changing ways.

“According to a December report from the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare, 83% of all premature deaths are due to chronic disease, and more than 64% of them are potentially avoidable ,” says Dr Brett Hill. “Our Ultimate Health Retreat is designed to provide people with real, practical information and lessons that they can take away and apply to their lives, hopefully benefiting their long-term health.”

Over three days at the Woodhouse barracks in the Adelaide Hills, participants will experience Functional Fitness training sessions, the Challenge Hill obstacle course, seminars on Emotions, Wellness, Food & Fitness, seriously healthy meals and healthy cooking demonstrations. The basis of the Ultimate Health Retreat’s wellness philosophies is drawn from research into the habits of our hunter-gatherer ancestors.

“Paleolithic people exercised in more varied ways (squatting, lifting, jumping, swimming), and consumed entirely natural, raw and unprocessed foods,” explains Dr Hill. “Our retreat aims to return people to their normal, innate state of being fit and healthy.”

The Ultimate Health Retreat is being held from January 28-30, 2011 at Woodhouse Activity Centre, 37 Spring Gully Rd, Piccadilly. Early-bird special: $475 (full-cost $575). Special offer: bring a friend and receive $50 cash-back. For more information, contact Dr Brett Hill at
