When US based Dr Jana Matthews first heard about Memory Box, she immediately recognised its international potential and came to Adelaide to meet with its developers last month.

Co-author of books “Lessons from the Edge”, “Building the Awesome Organization”, “Leading at the Speed of Growth” and many more, Matthews is a member of the original senior team of the Kauffman Foundation’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Leadership. She brought the full weight of her experience to a 4 day planning workshop with the Memory Box management team – laying the foundation for long term growth for this fledgling company.

“Memory Box has the potential to lead the ‘cloud computing’ revolution. It is ground-breaking technology that has the opportunity to dominate the fast growing online data storage and backup market and my role is to mentor the Memory Box management team to turn this vision into a reality,” says Matthews.

The Memory Box story began when a local team of talented software engineers set out to provide a low-cost, easy-to-use and highly secure online data storage and backup solution for individuals and small business alike.

Launched in 2009, the multi-award winning Memory Box is unlike any other product on the market thanks to its unique design and safety features. Boasting a triple encryption process which incorporates the same encryption technology used by the US Federal Government and the major banks, Memory Box also features decentralised file distribution which sees the encrypted data spread throughout the network rather than housed in a single, vulnerable location.

“We knew we had a great product with global potential. Having access to someone of Dr Matthews’ calibre has enabled us to hone our business plan and develop a long-term roadmap for Memory Box,” says Memory Box CEO, Trevor Glen.

Following a full subscription to the first round of a share offering on the Australian Small Scale Offering Board earlier this year, initial investor confidence has enabled Memory Box to secure the funds required to now begin implementing this highly ambitious business plan.

“Following our initial planning session, it was clear that our key priorities were to drive brand awareness, grow our customer base and raise the company’s value through strategic partnerships and increased website traffic," says Matthews.

Dr Matthews is in Adelaide again next week for two full days of business planning for the company.
