Sydney, 6th December 2010 … Software distributor Software Alliance Group is proud to announce the Australian release of its mid-market Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, Sage Pastel Evolution, includes some major enhancements. Evolution 6.5 is billed as the most significant release since its launch in 2003 and presents a real challenge to its ERP competitors.

The upgrade is based on a complete overhaul of software and it’s been billed as the most significant change to the mid-market Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution ever.
Two new modules have been added to the ERP suite.

“Branch Accounting is probably the most exciting addition to Evolution 6.5,” says John North, managing director of Software Alliance Group, Authorised Channel Development Partner for Sage Pastel in Australia. “It’s been designed specifically for companies with more than just an HQ. Simply, it introduces bi-directional synchronisation and consolidation of data which means that information is shared, consolidated and saved on both the centralised system at head office as well as at branch level.”

Two-way data streaming comes with many benefits including the ongoing ability to transact at a local level even if the ADSL lines or virtual private network goes down. Also, any potential loss of data due to fire, theft, etc can be kept at a minimum because of the regular consolidation and replication of information.

The other addition to Sage Pastel Evolution is Retail Point of Sale which offers a fully integrated end-to-end retail management solution. “We anticipate that our new POS application will have significant up-take in the mid-sized retail sector,” say North. “It’s an easy to use, robust, keyboard driven application that generates sales orders, invoices and credit notes from a single simple interface”.

Sage Pastel Evolution 6.5 will be available from December 2010.

In the seven years since Pastel Evolution was launched, it’s attracted over 6 000 medium to large sized businesses from 52 countries.

North concludes that, “Overall, Evolution 6.5 won’t disappoint! It’s the perfect solution for a larger business that has out-grown its standard accounting software and is looking for more insight and control over its affairs.”
