Dr Zoe Love, BHSc, MChiro, has been elected President of the Chiropractors Association of Australia – South Australia (CAASA). Dr Love says her purpose as President of the CAASA is both to support the national association’s contribution to Australian healthcare reform and to raise awareness of the positive impact chiropractic has both on individual people and on community wellness as a whole.

“Chiropractors focus on improving the body’s ability to heal itself and function at its best,” Dr Love said. “I am heartened to see the Government’s healthcare initiatives are beginning to foster a wellness philosophy. By so doing, we can reduce the stress on Australia’s already overcrowded hospital system, which can only get worse in the coming years, with the ‘baby boom’ bubble.”

The Christies Beach practitioner completed a three-year Bachelor of Health Sciences at Adelaide University before taking a Masters Degree in Chiropractic for a further three years at Macquarie University in Sydney.

Dr Love is also certified in Neuro Emotional Technique (NET), a “mind-body” approach which is designed to enhance the body's natural healing process by identifying and balancing unresolved emotional influences.

“I chose chiropractic as a career after seeing the positive impact on my grandfather. He suffered from emphysema and I was fascinated to see that his adjustments at the chiropractor made it so much easier for him to breathe.

“I saw that through chiropractic, his body was able to function better on its own, and I started thinking, ‘this is amazing, maybe I could do this’.

“Being involved in the Chiropractors’ Association of South Australia has enabled me to interact with some of the most energetic, passionate and intelligent people, who are all motivated to enhance the community’s health and wellness. This is a constant source of inspiration.

“CAA members must undertake a certain amount of continuing education which keeps us up-to-date with the latest developments and techniques.”
