On the back of last year's very successful 'Jazz & Soul' VIP Cocktail Charity Night, Actress, TV Host and Charity Founder Tania Zaetta is gearing up to 'wow' everyone with her annual fundraiser, guaranteed to be the most stylish night in town again on Tuesday 7th December. And best of all - EVERYONE is invited!
As one of Gold Coast's most famous residents, Tania is urging everyone to make this event their Christmas Work Party with all proceeds from the night helping to give others a Christmas lending hand.
The 'Peace for the Children' charity, founded by Tania Zaetta and Grant Hilton 2 years ago, works to improve the lives of innocent children and women that have been affected by war, and encourages peace building in war torn countries.
With projects already in Afghanistan and Tibet, they are currently focusing on a project in East Timor, raising funds to build a much needed basketball court for the town of Ainaro.
This follows on from a very successful campaign gathering new sports equipment recently sent to the children including Basketballs kindly donated by Gold Coast's Blaze Basketball Team, personally organised as a favour for Tania by team captain James Harvey.
"Teachers in East Timor have difficulties convincing the children to attend school. A promise, or subtle bribe I like to call it, of playing their favourite sports increases attendance and helps for a brighter future for them and their country.", Tania says.
Last year's event was a huge success raising funds for the charity gaining extensive media coverage and attended by a host of business identities and celebrities including Pat Cash, Underbellys Daniel Amalm, Nathan 'Carnage' Corbett and Warwick Capper.
"Not everyone in the world has the chance to live in such a beautiful, clean, safe environment like the Gold Coast." says Tania. She continues, "Imagine all the kids in Nippers on our beaches on the weekends having to worry about how many land mines and IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) are under their feet when they play. That's what it's like where local kids play in the war ravaged places I've been too. What a horrible thought."
"As much as I enjoy living on the Gold Coast when not needed elsewhere to work, unfortunately it really is very limited here as to the places to go out with friends for a 'stylish' evening of cool live music with a cool crowd for anyone over 28. So, last year I came up with the idea of organising a night that I myself would like to go to with friends and colleagues. A 'Jazz & Soul' Cocktail Party was the answer with all proceeds going to my Charity."
Anyone who knows Tania knows that when she thows a party, its 'class and style' all the way, with lots of surprises through the night.
"We've waited months for Lisa Hunt' - Soul Singer Legend - 'to return from singing in New York and we're thrilled to have her back again this year to belt out her Diane Ross and The Supremes favourites. It really is a night not to be missed.", Tania said.
This year's 'Jazz & Soul' Night will again be attended by a host of celebrities, (with some special surprise guests to be announced) media, friends and supporters of the charity and consist of an Auction, Raffle, Goody Bags worth $250 each and a night of dancing into the holiday season. 'Cool Jas' Jazz Band will be playing throughout the night with the Aerial Angels performing above the crowds.
Times have been tough this year and a lot of business's aren't having Christmas parties so why not make the 2010 'Jazz and Soul' Night your Christmas party - you'll be helping others at the same time.
