Now in its 35th year, Mission Australia’s annual Christmas Lunch in the Park, held at Wellington Square Park in East Perth, is Perth’s biggest Christmas Day charity event.
Mission Australia State Director Ross Kyrwood said the focus of the event once again was about bringing the community together.
“This year we have joined forces with BHP Billiton as the major sponsor of CLIP to ensure everyone in the Perth community has the opportunity to enjoy Christmas Day.
“We want people from all walks of life who, for one reason or another, don’t have friends or family to share the Christmas experience with to come along just before 11.30am and be a part of our community on Christmas Day,” Mr Kyrwood said.
“CLIP is all about people coming together to enjoy a meal, entertainment and great companionship on Christmas Day.”
Mr Kyrwood said that Christmas Lunch in the Park continues to be a key feature of Perth’s festive season, bringing companies and hundreds of volunteers together to make sure Christmas is a special time for everyone.
“Christmas Lunch in the Park is also a chance for the community to be involved in an event that offers a fun, lively and rewarding Christmas experience,” he said.
“Financial donations are particularly important to help us run this event and the people of WA can get involved by visiting our CLIP website, where they can donate in a few simple clicks.”

People can also donate a gift (gifts suitable for male and female adults are in highest demand) and leave it, unwrapped, with Mission Australia staff at the Old Gasworks Building (337 Wellington Street, Perth) any week day between now and Christmas Day from 9.30am – 4.00pm.
