In October 2014 there was an incident at Carrington Cottages boarding house in the city that resulted in the death of a man and the subsequent arrest of one of our tenants, Luke Ford. Mr Ford was charged with causing the death of the man. His trial for murder is at last set to commence on Monday 6 June 2016 in the SA Supreme Court.

The Chairman of the Carrington Cottages Board, Dr Bill Griffiths, said: “We are deeply saddened by this incident. The safety and security of our

tenants is, of course, of prime importance.

“Since the incident we have taken significant actions to upgrade and implement additional security measures in our boarding houses,” he added.

Dr Griffiths advised that as the matter was now before the Court, neither he nor any staff or volunteers associated with Carrington Cottages were in a position to make further comment about the case.
