The Adelaide Marketing Group is partnering with the publishers of the Footprints – South Australia to find an iconic image of Adelaide with great prizes to be won for the winning photographer.

The Adelaide Marketing Group is a collaboration of organisations marketing Adelaide, with Advantage SA as the secretariat, consisting of Adelaide City Council, Adelaide Convention Bureau, Education Adelaide, South Australian Tourism Commission, Department of Premier and Cabinet and Department of Trade and Economic Development.

The Group has collaborated with tish’n’enigma books, publishers of the Footprints – South Australia book for a competition inviting hobbyist, amateur and professional photographers to submit images that capture the State’s vibrant city centre. The images can be of iconic Adelaide locations, or the city skyline, the only limit is the photographer’s imagination!

Advantage SA CEO Nikki Seymour-Smith said that the competition aimed to uncover photographic talent while finding fresh new imagery to be used in marketing Adelaide and the State.

“We are always looking for innovative new vision to use across our marketing material and when the opportunity presented itself to collaborate with Footprints – Australia’s most popular tourism coffee table book in a competition to capture quintessential images, we jumped at the opportunity.”

“Whether photographers choose to capture the city skyline, Rundle Mall, Gouger Street, North Adelaide, Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide Town Hall, Victoria Square, there are no boundaries as long as your photo captures Adelaide and its surrounds.”

“And you don’t have to be a professional photographer to participate, photography enthusiasts of all levels are encouraged to enter and be in the running to win some great prizes. We look forward to seeing some stunning images of the State.”

The prize pack includes an iPad, $500 South Australian Visitor and Travel Centre voucher, one night’s B&B accommodation in an Adelaide 5-star hotel including a meal for 2 at Windy Point Restaurant and membership to Advantage SA (Business Level). The winning image may be used across marketing of the State across print, online, television and outdoor advertising.

The Adelaide Marketing Group Iconic Adelaide Images Competition is running as part of the Footprints- South Australia photographic competition. Photographers are invited to submit images of Adelaide city and South Australia’s picturesque regions for consideration for the 2011 edition of the popular book which showcases the best of South Australia to the world. This year’s theme is ‘Off the beaten track’.
