The Grumpy Baker - famous for its amazing sourdough breads - is now expanding to the eastern suburbs of Sydney.

This Wednesday 10 November Grumpy Baker Vaucluse will be open.

Grumnpy Baker will be serving gourmet breakfast, coffees and their delicious breads & baked goods.

With existing Cafe's in Waverton (north Sydney) and Darlinghurst this new store is the beginning of many more. The plan is to continue to expand these stores and look at opportunities interstate as well.

Grumpy Baker Vaucluse will bake on the premises & specialises in real sourdoughs. This will be a great spot for the locals & tourists to grab a coffee before heading down to iconic Watsons Bay.

The Grumpy Baker

The Grumpy Baker was created in 2002 by Michael Cthurmer Owner-operator as a Café/Retail Bakery in Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. Finding a niche in the market for good, old fashioned bread, particularly sourdough that was more “cheesy” and less of a “vinegar” starter, he set out to conquer the bread world.

At the beginning, all of the baking was carried out in small kitchen to the rear of the shop and as the smell of freshly baked bread wafted down Oxford Street, The Grumpy Baker soon attracted a regular clientele who enjoyed their rustic, handmade gourmet bread free of preservatives and additives.
