Think Well, Be Well is the theme for this year’s National Psychology Week in November.

Soon, North Adelaide residents will have an opportunity to experience first-hand how psychology and psychologists contribute to community wellbeing.

As part of this national health initiative, local North Adelaide Psychologist, resident and performer Alexandra Frost will present an informative and practical free lunchtime seminar at the North Adelaide Community Centre on Friday 19th November.

“Stop Struggling, Tune in Life is a free community event and everyone is welcome to join in on what will be a great session”, says Alexandra Frost.

In this practical forum, North Adelaide residents will discover how “Mindfulness”, a powerful therapeutic tool and essential life skill, can build confidence, improve relationships, enhance performance and even help people to manage chronic pain.

Sue Clearihan, local Councillor for the North Ward of the Adelaide City Council agrees that all members of the community can benefit by supporting health and wellbeing programs, including National Psychology Week initiatives.

“I am very pleased that National Psychology Week is coming to North Adelaide. This is a great chance to meet the psychologists who are there to support our own community and to discover the latest psychological tools that can change your life”, says Sue Clearihan.

Health professionals like Alexandra Frost directly support our local community by promoting therapies and services that assist people to live life by their values. Where life can sometimes feel like too much of a struggle, learning to be present in the moment can teach us to live a meaningful life. This free community event will give people practical knowledge and skills.

“Stop Struggling, Tune in Life” is on at the Tynte Street North Adelaide Community Centre, Friday 19th November from 1 – 2pm. To register for this free event, please contact Attuned Psychology on 8361 7008. Everyone is welcome.

National Psychology Week is an initiative of the Australian Psychological Society, designed to increase public awareness about psychology, psychological issues and the role psychologists play in community wellbeing.
