Mary MacKillop’s legacy will be celebrated in song when a Mary MacKillop College vocal ensemble joins award-winning musician, Melinda Schneider, in performance at the Mary MacKillop Foundation’s fundraising breakfast at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday 8th October.

Senior School Vocal Ensemble, INCA, will join six-time Golden Guitar winner Melinda Schneider in providing entertainment at the fundraising breakfast. Adelaide’s radio guru Peter Goers will preside over the morning as Master of Ceremonies Lieutenant Governor Mr Hieu Van Le A.O will present as guest speaker.

INCA, an acronym of the vocalists’ names, was formed by Year 11 student Isabella Pagnozzi and Year 12 students, Natasha Parletta, Carla Giannini and Amelia Smith in 2009.The girls are polished vocalists who have performed as a support act for 2009 Australian Idol winner, Stan Walker, and 2003 contestant, ‘Paulini’.

Melinda Schneider is excited to be performing with the talented group from Mary MacKillop College in this special year of Canonisation.

“It’s great to see young talent coming through, we could all see the next big thing performing at the Adelaide Convention Centre, you just never know” says Melinda.

The CEO of the Mary MacKillop Foundation, Sam Hardjono, is also excited about seeing what South Australian schools have on offer.

“Mary MacKillop always gave opportunity, and I think events like this are great way to give students the opportunity to show off their talents” says Sam.

“By supporting projects around the country, the Foundation is able to continue the works and legacy of Mary MacKillop like a true Australian. Since 1995, the Foundation has funded over 300 small life changing projects, responding to the needs of rural and isolated communities, indigenous groups and people with disabilities. As well as this, the Foundation has funded Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Tertiary Scholarships for over a decade with 31 graduates and another 21 currently enrolled.”
