Fuji Xerox Australia, a leader in integrated document services and information management, has been acknowledged as a finalist for the Leading in Sustainability - Setting the Standard for Large Organisations award category at the 2010 Banksia Awards. The award recognises businesses that practice the integration of sustainable principles and practices into their operational activities.

Among Fuji Xerox Australia's successes in this venture is its Eco-Manufacturing Centre, an award-winning engineering facility that remanufactures parts removed from equipment during servicing. This has significantly reduced the amount of electronic waste that goes to Australia's landfills, achieving a $240 million return on a$22 million investment. The centre celebrated its tenth year of operation in 2010 and has been named in the United Nations Global 500 Roll of Environmental Honor.

Other contributions Fuji Xerox Australia has made further demonstrates leadership in environmentally responsible technologies. Some of these include Induction Heating (IH) fusing technology, which eliminates the need for pre-heating and stops the machine from using power while in stand-by mode, the EA-Eco Toner, which, compared to conventional toners, cut power used by as much as 15 per cent by lowering the fusing temperature by 20ÂșC, and 'DELCIS' (Digitally Enhanced Lighting Control Imaging System), a high-precision, LED print head technology with superior output resolution that allows for even smaller devices and power reduction by as much as 45 per cent.

Amanda Keogh, Manager of Environment and Sustainability at Fuji Xerox Australia, stated: "We are delighted to have been named a finalist in such a prestigious award. Fuji Xerox invests significant resources in enhancing sustainability outcomes for the communities and environments in which we operate."

Fuji Xerox Australia releases a Sustainability Report annually to document its environmental sustainability achievements. The report is independently audited and measures the company's successes in reaching its environmental, social and economic goals.
