The annual Gold Coast Pet and Animal Expo takes place at the start of September.

The Gold Coast Pet and Animal Expo provides tourists with a great opportunity to find the perfect gift for their faithful friends.

This year's event, which takes place at the Central Park Oval in Varsity Lakes between September 4th and 5th, is being billed by organisers as the biggest occasion of its kind in Queensland.

As a result, Gold Coast accommodation guests who are keen to find a treat for their beloved pets should find they are spoilt for choice with the range of products on offer.

While there will be plenty of chances to pick up a present for your pampered pooch or friendly feline, the expo also has an educational slant, with Dr Chris Brown - the star of Australia's Bondi Vet TV show - set to make an appearance.

He will be on hand for the whole weekend to provide cheap accommodation Gold Coast customers with his favourite animal stories, plus a variety of handy hints and tips for good animal care.

Organisers are expecting more than 20,000 people to visit the Pet and Animal Expo this year, so anyone planning to attend should book some of the 5 star hotels Gold Coast has to offer as soon as possible.

The show will run between 09:30 and 16:00 local time on both days.

For more information on this event, visit the Gold Coast Pet and Animal Expo website.
