Leading Australian ICT project management specialist, Protegic, has appointed Rachel Muldoon to the position of national service delivery manager.

Ms Muldoon was previously with Macquarie Telecom for 12 years, most recently as acting general manager southern region and sales manager-account management southern region.

Listed in the top 30 of BRW's Fast Starters list for 2010, Protegic provides strategic project management services, focussing on the higher end of the PM market.

Ms Muldoon will be responsible for the management and recruitment of personnel for new projects, and set in place client account plans focused on ensuring Protegic meets the objectives the client is seeking from their engagement. The plan will also focus on training and support for Protegic’s onsite resources.

"Most major projects require both advisory and delivery services to ensure successful outcomes for the customer. This can involve having two or three project managers on site, usually in senior roles including line management positions, who assist in setting strategies for the customer. This often generates other projects that require additional project managers longer term to implement the strategic recommendations," she said.

"My aim is to make the operations side of the business scalable so we can continue on our growth path. Protegic has enjoyed 40 per cent growth over the past 12 months and we expect this to more than double over the next year, so we need to have the processes in place to manage this growth effectively.

"We are diversifying our project base from being focussed on ICT to one that also manages projects such as green field infrastructure or business change and transformation management across any industry."

Some of Ms Muldoon's achievements and attributes gained over the past two years at Macquarie Telecom was to achieve sales growth of 215 per cent over target, reduce unplanned staff attrition across the Melbourne office from 40 per cent to zero, increase customer retention by 12 per cent to 96 per cent, and transform a disparate and dysfunctional team to an out-performing, empowered state office.
