The program raised just over $6000 for The Sports Rewards Foundation, making the results a great success organiser Sonja Falvo, from Real Body Enterprises, explained.

“We hope to increase the awareness of the event and the fundraising activities for the 2011 National Fat-Loss-A-Thon.”

“The National Fat-Loss-A-Thon has helped to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits for the prevention of obesity, type II diabetes and heart disease and we have changed many lives in the process.

“Next year, we are aiming for 2000 entrants and greater sponsorship support from businesses to help increase awareness and the ongoing success of this charity fundraising event,” Ms Falvo said.

The National Fat-Loss-A-Thon began on 1 January 2010 and for a $10 donation participants received online access to information and guidelines for the 12-week Real Body program, including recipes, meal plans and exercise programs. Ms Falvo wrote the program after two years of research and through her work with three nutritionists.

The winners were judged 50 per cent on their physical results (from their before and after photos) and 50 per cent on personal questionnaire answers…winners can be viewed at
