New residents were officially welcomed to Aspen’s LV Plus Ballina over 55’s estate at a luncheon held today by Aspen Communities chief executive Bill Marshall.
The luncheon, which was attended by local MP Don Page, marks the arrival of new residents in Stage 2A and the official announcement of Stage 2B, with the next release of homes now available for purchase through pre-sales.
Mr Marshall said Ballina was one of the fastest growing destinations in NSW for people aged 55 plus and this estate offered a range of the most spacious resort style homes available for people approaching retirement.
“Retirement living is becoming more focussed on living than retirement. Our aim is to create a resort-style development with an exciting blend of lifestyle and services rarely found along the NSW coast for people aged 55 plus,” Mr Marshall said.
“The homes developed in Stage 2A really challenge the typical retirement village model. Homes are architecturally finished two to three bedroom houses with spacious alfresco areas, designer kitchens and an open living area which overlooks a private courtyard.
“I’d like to welcome all our new residents to the community at Aspen LV Plus Ballina and with Stage 2B now underway it marks a significant date for us in delivering the vision for the area.”
Margaret Playford who brought in the initial stage of development said the luncheon was great way to meet and welcome new residents into the estate.
“My sister and I looked right up the coast of New South Wales for a place to retire and many of the homes we found in Sydney were just too small. What makes Aspen Ballina so special are the spacious homes available and Aspen were even willing to modify the room sizes for our needs,” said Ms Playford.
“This luncheon is a great way to meet the new people moving into our tight knit community. My sister and I, in a way, act as ambassadors for the development and it was great to be able to offer new residents a nice flower arrangement at the lunch.”
Don and Joy Spencer echoed the words of Margaret who also looked right along the New South Wales coast for a place to retire.
“We moved in only eight months ago and researched places across New South Wales, especially in Tweed Heads, and what set Ballina apart was the size of each home compared to other estates and surprisingly they were more affordable,” Don said.
“We came into this development with our eyes open knowing that in the future the development would have a multi-million dollar clubhouse – and that will just be an added bonus.”
When complete the Aspen LV Plus Ballina community will comprise a $4million clubhouse, a 120-bed residential aged care facility and an independent living community of some 335 homes.
Construction of the new aged care facility is expected to commence in August this year with the new clubhouse and activities centre to commence later in 2010.
The new clubhouse will incorporate meeting rooms, 100 plus seat bistro, a bowling green, library, alfresco, courtyard, gymnasium, pool, IT kiosk and home theatre.
The Aspen LV Plus Ballina development is located only 20 minutes from Byron Bay and 30 minutes from Lismore.
