Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 - CYBER SECURITY Training and Mentoring Project 2021

The Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc.(BBEC) and Textile, Clothing and Footwear Resource Centre of Western Australia Inc who have assisted entrepreneurs to start, develop and grow their small businesses since 1994, are working on a new free eBook that will feature expert tips from global Cyber Security IT experts and mentors that are sharing their insights and tips for the benefit of others. 

This initiative is part of the BBEC’s national project titled the ‘MY Business Incubator™ CYBER SECURITY Training and Mentoring Project’, providing small business owners across Australia with:- Free Cyber Security Mentoring, Helpline, Workshops, Forums and Webinars with up to date Cyber Security knowledge and awareness incorporating information supplied by the Australian Cyber Security Centre. 

Carol Hanlon, CEO of BBEC said, “The eBook will be informative and helpful to sole traders, micro, small and medium-size business owners, with tips shared in a simple manner that can be understood by every business owner and their employees.”

Some of the experts that will be providing tips include:

  • Simon Cohen – Simon is the founder and Managing Director of Cohesis, an IT strategy business helping customers in areas such as cyber security, strategic planning and risk management and software development. Simon has over 20 years’ experience in IT and has held various leadership and governance roles in many organisations including PwC, Thomson Reuters, and UBS.
  • Nikolay Shmakov – Nikolay is from Res-Q IT Computer Services and has worked as a Solutions Developer and Consultant for businesses across Australia. He has worked as Project Manager in a wide variety of business applications such as business process automation (Ai) and web development.
  • Nageswaree Kodai – Nageswaree has a master’s degree in Cyber Security from Edith Cowan University. She has been a lead author and presenter for the 2020 International conference on Computational Science and Computational Intelligence and has also been involved in the CyberCheckMe project at ECU as a Content Developer. Nageswaree is also assisting BBEC in the delivery of the Cyber Security Training & Mentoring Project.
