~~Three men from Sydney will kayak 400km across the dangerous and unpredictable Bass Strait from Victoria to Tasmania in order to raise nearly $40,000 for The Salvation Army’s youth homelessness services.

David Linco of Davlin Wealth Management along with his mates Mark Hempel and Rodrigo Matamala will kayak 11 hours a day in shark infested waters and battle some of the most frightening weather conditions in the world over the course of 3 weeks in Feb 2016. They have been training for over a year for the gruelling expedition to ensure their physical and mental fitness is at its peak.

They are undertaking this fundraiser because they believe education is the key in eradicating the cycle of poverty and that Oasis, The Salvation Army’s youth support network, is playing a vital role in helping Australia’s at risk youth get back on their feet.

“There has been a sharp rise in youth homelessness in Australia which is why Oasis is needed now more than ever and the investment in kids today will create the bright future tomorrow.” Financial Planner David Linco said. “Oasis has a proven track record in helping young people realise their potential to grow and become valuable members of the community. There is no better way to get a homeless kid off the street than through education and what better time to give than Christmas to make a lasting difference in the life of a young person.”

Oasis Youth Support Network has been supporting disadvantaged and marginalised young people in Sydney’s inner city since 1992.
David said, “We have 2 big challenges with the Kayaking Bass Strait expedition. Firstly, paddling 400km of untamed ocean but also raising $40,000 to fund the Oasis School. We need people to give generously and ask that donations be made at
