Local North Adelaide psychologists from Attuned Psychology and hosts of The Adelaide Show podcast are joining forces as part of this year’s Psychology Week.
The group will engage in a live mental health roundtable which they will also release as a podcast in an innovative attempt to address stigmas around mental health and consider how psychologists may help community members improve mental health and wellbeing.
The theme of Psychology Week this year is “Live Well, Be Well” and looks at stress and wellbeing in Australia, with special consideration to the effects social media has on our lives and the tie between stress and the phenomenon known as ‘FOMO’ (fear of missing out).
Host of The Adelaide Show podcast Steve Davis will be interviewing some of the Attuned Psychology team as part of a Psychology Roundtable as one of the only online events being offered across the country during the week.
“Many people get very nervous about seeing a psychologist, and getting to know one can help put people at ease,” Mr. Davis says.
“We’re really excited about the opportunity and are looking forward to create more awareness about how psychology can help people and communities lead healthier, happier and more meaningful lives,” principal psychologist Alexandra Frost says.
The live podcast is an invitation-only event happening on the evening of 10 November at Attuned Psychology in North Adelaide.
The podcast can be downloaded from http://www.attunedpsychology.
