Vasey Communities continues to celebrate its evolution in the retirement industry, today receiving development approval for the masterplan of its new $90 million retirement living project, the spectacular 12-storey apartment community Kokoda Residences.

The not-for-profit Vasey Communities is looking forward to developing the new vertical retirement village in the heart of Waitara, located on Sydney’s North Shore.
The prime and highly convenient location will allow residents easy access to key amenities, with the train, Magpies league club, PCYC and Mark Taylor oval within 100m and major shopping centres, parks, health clubs and other public transport all within a one-kilometre radius. The development will mark a cornerstone in Vasey’s retirement offering and will offer over 55s a new inspired lifestyle.

Vasey Communities’ Chairman Kate Gunton says the development will enhance modern retirement options in the area, “We’re very excited to announce development consent has been received for Kokoda Residences. We have a proud history of providing retirement living communities across Sydney and this project is a key plank in our village modernisation program.”

Adding to the excitement of this important milestone, Vasey are proud to announce their relationship with newly appointed builder, Richard Crookes Constructions. The family owned business has a well-earned reputation in construction and is an obvious choice for the values driven Vasey, with over 40 years of experience in the industry.

Joint General Manager of the Aged Care & Retirement Living Division, Rod Burger says the team are thrilled to have forged a value driven relationship with Vasey Communities, “We both have a rich history built around integrity and care. Partnered with our specialist Retirement Living experience, we are excited to collaborate with the stakeholder team to provide a market leading facility and a home for future residents.”

On behalf of the Board, Chairman Gunton has expressed her enthusiasm over the quality choice of project management and construction team, “We’re confident that the project delivery team will ensure a quality building that will complement the Vasey portfolio. This development will truly allow us to return a vibrant senior’s community to Waitara.”

The vertical community of 117 apartments over 12-storeys will include an array of lifestyle features including central gardens, bar, lounge, library and gym facilities. An exclusive launch event showcasing the exciting offerings of Kokoda Residences is set for March this year, with construction to commence next month.
