Holstein Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Adams in the role of Services Extension Officer. Simon brings a passion for the Holstein breed and a diverse dairy industry background to the role.
Working closely with Holstein Australia members on farm will be a key focus of Simon’s work, supporting them to interpret and understand their genomics results, assisting with registrations and the application of the suite of products that Holstein Australia has on offer to members. He will also play an active role throughout Holstein Australia’s national Sub-Branch network, providing vital support at the heart of the Holstein community.
Simon joins Holstein Australia from Saputo Australia where he was Farm Services Advisor, responsible for supporting approximately 90 farmers in the milk supply chain.
Previously a dairy farm owner and Holstein Australia classifier for a number of years, Simon is relishing his return to working with breeders on improving their herds.
“The tools and technologies breeders now have access to has seen great advancements in the Holstein breed over the last few years. I’m looking forward to working with members to unlock the full potential of these tools, helping them interpret results in the right way and providing that connection between people and data to ensure they are making the most of the services available to them,” says Simon.
Simon will be on the road this week in Victoria’s Western Districts. He can be contacted at [email protected] or by phone on 0438 505 746.
