In the first quarter of 2020 Premium Graduate Placements (PGP Australia) plan to role out a new virtual vocational placement platform. The platform will allow university students to fulfil their industrial training course requirements via technology enabled work simulation modules from leading Australian and International firms that are looking to showcase services to a wider talent pool and create a new way to engage with millennials.
The platform will combine both “work simulation technology and industry leading content to provide students with a taste of real work tasks”, according to Celine Widjaya, Operations Manager of Premium Graduate Placements. The activities that will be simulated through the program are based on real activities and projects that are routinely assigned to recent graduates.
The virtual Work Integrated Learning program has the backing of several universities around Australia as it offers regional students the same work experience opportunities as those enjoyed by upcoming graduates in the capital cities. It also allows university students the chance to find out what it is like to work in different industries without having to relocate.
“The platform is currently being developed in conjunction with another leading Australian based Technology firm and has received positive feedback from leading Australian and offshore universities”, says Miss Widjaya. Once the platform goes live she expects it to be rapidly integrated into a number of degrees – particularly those in commerce, engineering and IT.
Premium Graduate Placements (PGP Australia) provides accredited vocational training courses aimed to improving graduate employability and providing a bridge between education and employment.
