myMedPac have become Australia’s first online platform to enable Indigenous Australians to hve medications packed and shipped to the door with no extra charge.
Patients can simply go to https://www.mymedpac.com.au or download myMedPac from app store to register. All users need to do is fill in their details and myMedPac will handle the rest.
Once users have a profile setup, myMedPac works with partnered pharmacies and communicates between the doctor and patient for medical history and any prescriptions required.
The myMedPac application allows the user to access their medication chart, track their deliveries, and chat with a pharmacist at the touch of a button.
This service is greatly suited to Indigenous Australians in that most people currently have to pay anywhere between $5 to $10 per week to get their medications packed, not to mention delivery. The current Closing The Gap (CTG) system only subsidises prescriptions.
The best part about myMedPac service is there are no extra packing or delivery cost. Users can do what they enjoy doing and wait for their medications to arrive at their door.
Founder and CEO Joe Zhou says the service bridges a gap for Indigenous Australians in their medication management and also greatly improves medication compliance to improve their health outcomes.
“Evidence indicates that Indigenous patients are often not achieving the best health outcomes and we hope this service can make a difference for these people,” he said.
Anyone can get this service, whether they are on 2 medications or 10, myMedPac is designed to simplify health and increase medication adherence rates.
