With an ever-increasing need for dependable pressure and vacuum pumping and explosion protection within Australia as well as further afield, health and safety standards are becoming even more vital to uphold. There is an ongoing necessity for regulations to be continually developed and facilitated. The granting of Emeritus Membership by industry regulator Ausjet to the MD of WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd, Ian Blevin, honours his ongoing dedication towards upholding and improving safety for all who utilise and work with high pressure water jets.

The award ceremony took place in February at the Ausjet meeting held in Western Australia. Former Captain of the Royal Green Jackets & Brigade of Gurkhas, Blevin has played a pivotal role over many decades in the development of various training courses, guidance notes and training videos. Together with two others who were also granted Emeritus Membership of Ausjet, these industry experts combined over 100 years of outstanding contribution to the industry and the regulatory association.

Blevin joined WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd in 1997. As Managing Director of what’s now become the southern hemisphere’s leading supplier of high & ultra high pressure water jetting, vacuum explosion protection & associated robotics and manipulators, he combines vast experience with specialised business acumen that drives rugged, safe and environmentally sound solutions to cleaning and maintenance tasks within multiple global industries. WOMA constantly advances, taking advantage of the latest cutting edge technology to design and produce the ultimate tools for productivity and efficiency. Blevin says that such “customer solutions are realised by emerging technologies, amplified by enabled human ingenuity”.

In addition to bringing the latest in advanced, high powered water jetting tools and units to market, WOMA (Australia) Pty Ltd also facilitates specialist training. This is carried out at their dedicated facility in Perth, WA, or on-site at suitable locations throughout Australia.
