Australian workplace cultures expert recently explored what it means to have an organisation founded on team strengths.

The hard data speaks for itself. Drawing on a Harvard Business Review study, Brooks demonstrates that financial and productivity impact. The study, which involved 49,495 business units, 1.2 million employees, across 22 organisations in 7 industries and 45 countries, is significant because it demonstrates that a strength framework applies regardless of culture.

'This data is significant, not just because of the results, but because it gives you a cross-cultural perspective,' Brooks explained. 'The challenge for CEOs, Executives, Managers and Team Leaders, is that their teams are strengths goldmines - but neither they, nor their team members - know just how many strengths they have.'

This is why she has published a method by which you can help your teams to learn what their strengths are.

'Strengths-based workplaces are more effective because it's energising,' said Brooks. '

When you enjoy what you’re doing, you do it better, and you feel like you’re working towards your potential. This is backed by research, which tells us that when you use your strengths, you are happier, less stressed, more resilient, and more engaged in your own self-development.'
