Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019 - Women Economic Forum Perth

Carol Hanlon, CEO of Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. (BEC Global), TCF WA Inc. (TCF Australia | TCF Global), BPW Business Incubator Training & Mentoring Projects has been invited to lead a WEF Perth Delegation to present at the Annual Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, India from 11th until the 16th of April 2019.  

The Women Economic Forum (WEF) is a global conference to foster empowering women and connections among women committed to facilitate constructive change in ALL walks of life.  More than 2,000 delegates will attend and this year’s theme is “Reimagining Societies: Reclaiming Humanity with Gender Equality”.

This year Ms Hanlon has been invited to put together a country delegation to present the Western Australian Country Plenary on WEF Perth Australia. WEF is the forum arm of ALL Ladies League, the Largest global women chamber in the world with 800 chapters and having outreach to 100,000 inspiring women in 150 countries. Western Australian delegates joining Carol include Linda Chatwin from Bodyscents Natural Skincare, Maitri Patel from Bolly Active Fitness, Chaynika Sethi from CVS Fashions, Norita Omar from Strive and Thrive and Suzie Craddock from The Rhythm Centre.  The theme of the first ever Perth WEF will be ‘Empowering Women Making a Difference’.  

The delegates from Western Australia will have the opportunity to join Carol on the main plenary stage to introduce themselves, and speak about their business focus, deliver their story of inspiration and personal life message. This will be great encouragement for those planning to attend WEF Perth on July 5-7, 2019.   All WA delegates will also be presenting on an extensive range of additional Parallel Sessions at WEF India sharing their skills and talents with the thousands of delegates attending.

“WEF Perth is thrilled that we will announce at WEF India, that the Welshpool Rotary Club in Western Australia are sponsoring two WEF Perth Conference Fee Scholarships to women from developing countries who are striving to make a difference to those around them through their NGO’s or social enterprises.  This is a great initiative for those that are awarded these WEF scholarships to build ongoing linkages with Welshpool Rotary Club for future engagement”

Ms Hanlon has been invited to present at the Forum because of her extensive 25year record of delivering small business development programs for the benefit of women across Australia and Internationally. Carol was an Australian Government delegate at 2012 APEC Women Economy Forums, Russia, APEC 2013 Indonesia, APEC 2015 Philippines where Carol was recognised in the Iconograph Exhibition ‘Women Icons of APEC’ and 2017 APEC Vietnam.  She also presented at the 2017, 2018 Women Economic Forum in India and 2018 Women Economy Forum, The Hague, Netherlands. Carol Hanlon was invited by the NGO Commission Status Women (NGO CSW) Forums United Nations, New York during CSW56, CSW59, CSW60, CSW61, CSW62 and in 2019 CSW 63 to deliver NGO forums for over 6 years on the economic empowerment of women in small business.

Carol was inducted in the Inaugural 2011 WA Women’s Hall of Fame for her passion and commitment with micro small business owners to achieve their business dreams and in 2015 was announced national winner in the ‘Empowering women in a community or organisation in Australia’. 

Ms Hanlon’s will also participate in two other sessions at the globally recognised Annual Women’s Economic Forum (WEF), in New Delhi:

  • Parallel Topic II -Steps to Growing a Business, 14th Sunday 12noon – 12.45pm

The Welshpool Rotary Club is part of Rotary International a worldwide Not for profit organization which was formed in Chicago USA in 1905.  The club was chartered in 1971 and belongs to District 9455. Although a relatively small club with an active membership of 19 we raise funds via sausage sizzles, quiz knights and other activities. These funds are distributed to needy people both locally and overseas. The club is looking to connect with an overseas Not for Profit (NFP) organisations and special worthwhile projects.
