Friday, March 22nd, 2019 - Tibetan Buddhist Institute

In the wake of further tragic gun violence and religious hatred in the headlines, one of the world’s foremost scholars of Buddhist Logic, Geshe Yama Rinchen, will be in Adelaide, Sunday, to lay out the scientific evidence that shows how the practice of love and compassion in daily life is an effective way of maintaining inner happiness and peace, even amid times of chaos and fear.

“There is now substantial scientific evidence, deriving both from the study of the functions of the brain, and from cognitive psychology, that empathy, love and compassion for others are central to our own happiness and well-being,” says Gesha Yama Rinchen.

“This underlines the timeless importance of ancient Buddhist teachings, which are shared by many other religions.”

Geshe Yama Rinchen is one of  the most exceptional Lharampa Geshes to have come out of the great monasteries of Tibet since 1959 and is one of the leading teachers at the renowned Gyume Tantric College.

The free community event from 2.00pm until 3.00pm this Sunday, March 24, will be held at the Tibetan Buddhist Institute, 8 Ross Avenue Flinders Park.
