Priority Theme: ‘Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls’
Carol Hanlon, CEO of Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. (Belmont BEC | BEC Global), Textile Clothing Footwear Resource Centre of WA Inc. (TCF Australia | TCF Global), the BPW Business Incubator Projects and in conjunction with Business & Professional Women Western Australia (BPW WA) will present an NGO Forum during UN CSW63, New York, in March 2019.
NGO CSW Forums give non-government organisations from around the world the opportunity to discuss issues pertaining to women and girls, to network, share strategies/good practices, and to lobby governments to implement resolutions and treaties.
The sixty-third session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 11 to 22 March 2019. Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are welcome to attend the session. The Priority theme this year is ‘Social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls’.
Ms Hanlon will present the following Forum NGO Parallel Event, which is being sponsored by TCF Global, BEC Global and BPW WA. Carol has invited additional speakers to join with her at the Forum including Dr Sandy Chong, Vice President, United Nations Association of Australia (WA Division) & Founder Verity Consulting and Susan Jones, First Vice President, Membership Chair, BPW International.

Economic Empowerment of Women Entrepreneurs through the Sustainable Development Goals will encourage women to introduce the SDG’s into their life, family, business and community, provide research tips of future trends & business opportunities through the SDG’s and the Women’s Empowerment Principles. The Forum will highlight women in small business who have participated with TCF Global, BEC Global or BPW Business Incubator projects, including social enterprises and highlight empowered women making a difference to others around the world. Opportunities will be shared on how to participate in the Women Economic Forum (WEF), Perth Western Australia being held 5-7 July at Curtin University.
Carol Hanlon has an extensive 25year record of delivering small business development programs for the benefit of women across Australia and Internationally. Carol was an Australian Government delegate at the 2012 APEC Women Economy Forums, Russia, APEC 2013 Indonesia, APEC 2015 Philippines where Carol was recognised in the Iconograph Exhibition ‘Women Icons of APEC’ and APEC 2017 Vietnam. She was also invited by the NGO Forums at United Nations CSW55, CSW56, CSW59, CSW61, CSW62 to deliver forums on women and business empowerment. Carol was inducted in the Inaugural 2011 WA Women’s Hall of Fame for her passion and commitment with micro small business owners to achieve their business dreams. Carol is also State President, BPW Western Australia.
