The Australian Women In Wine Awards are the world’s first and only awards platform for women in wine. Now in its 4 th year, the awards acknowledge and recognise the contributions of women in the Australian wine community who are an inspiration to new generations of women in wine.

“It’s a tremendous honour to be recognised as a valuable contributor to the industry I am so passionate about, and in doing so help the community organisations we support through the
success of the business,’ Ms Marquis says.

In May 2017 she took full ownership of Mollydooker Wines and began the process of transforming a family run business into a successful global brand.

“I immediately took steps to increase the level of professionalism in management and to realise Mollydooker’s full potential” says Sarah, “by cultivating a collaborative working environment, introducing accountability and empowering my team we have been able to grow all aspects of the business.”

Sarah has achieved remarkable success steering Mollydooker Wines toward greater heights in a largely male dominated industry, redefining its market position and increasing sales. Under her guidance Mollydooker Wines won the Business SA 2017 Regional Exporter Award. Currently 80% of Mollydooker’s production each year is being exported around the world gaining incredible international success. The local South Australian market also grew by an additional +100% in the past 12 months.

The Mollydooker motto is ‘we make wines that make people go WOW through attention to detail and commitment to excellence’ and Sarah has certainly embodied this in her approach to the future of the winery.

Amongst all this, Sarah’s creative style won’t sit still as she is set to launch her first solo project: the Fun series of wines ready to enjoy for the Australian summer season.

“I wanted to extend the Mollydooker range to make our wines more accessible to a wider variety of palates,” says Ms Marquis.

“The series features Euphoria the vibrant and tropical sparkling verdelho, Summer of ‘69 a light and refreshing early pick verdelho and is complemented by Serenity, a delightfully aromatic merlot rose.”

The Mollydooker Wines Fun series launches on Thursday 22 nd November and will be available online at and at Cellar Door on Friday 23rd November.
