The platform is the creation of Chris Marshall, an entrepreneur that has worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years. Over that time he noticed a fundamental problem with the way chefs, venue managers and business owners ordered from their suppliers and managed the contracts that supported their business.

 

“A chef would come off the line after hours of hard, intense work and had to order from their suppliers for the following day’s service. But every supplier had their own ordering channel – fax, email, text, phone call. It was a mess, and just added to the stress and time. So I decided to do something about it”, says Chris.

 

That’s where SupplyHub.io was born. By creating a single cloud-based ordering platform for all their suppliers, it solved the problem of multiple ordering channels. It also had the added benefits of tracking their spend, tracking their orders and communicating directly with suppliers through the online messaging system.

 

They also wanted to solve another problem that businesses faced – contracts. A business owner would try to track insurance renewal dates, find and engage with waste and recycling suppliers, compare gas and electricity quotes. All these took huge amounts of time and stress and pulled business owners away from the one important thing – their customers.

 

To solve this problem SupplyHub.io integrated a contract management portal which allows owners and managers to easily track, issue, communicate and award all manner of contracts they need to manage.

 

With better visibility over their supply chain, spend, and transparency over business-critical supply, hospitality businesses could focus on building their business.

 

And with almost 50% of hospitality businesses going out of business within 4 years*, better visibility over their spend is critical.

 

The challenge for Chris and his team was to ensure the suppliers we brought onto the marketplace were the best in the business, and all had their own strengths and customer types they like to work with.

The result was the hospitality industry’s one-stop-shop for all their supply needs, and the information and infrastructure to support their growth and success.

 

It was important to Chris to keep the platform free to use, and help customers improve their business without the huge cost. It all rolls together in an easy to use, full service platform for anyone in the hospitality business.
