Carol Hanlon, CEO of Belmont Business Enterprise Centre Inc. (BEC Global), TCF WA Inc. (TCF Australia | TCF Global), BPW Business Incubator Training & Mentoring Projects has been invited to attend and present at the Annual Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, India from 26th of April until the 1st of May 2018.  

The Women Economic Forum (WEF) is a global conference to foster empowering women and connections among women committed to facilitate constructive change in ALL walks of life.  More than 2,000 delegates will attend and this year’s theme is “The Economics Of Goodness: Empowering Potential, Engineering Change”

Ms Hanlon has been invited to present at the Forum because of her extensive 24year record of delivering small business development programs for the benefit of women across Australia and Internationally. Carol was an Australian Government delegate at 2012 APEC Women Economy Forums, Russia, APEC 2013 Indonesia, APEC 2015 Philippines where Carol was recognised in the Iconograph Exhibition ‘Women Icons of APEC’ and 2017 APEC Vietnam.  She also presented at the 2017 Women Economic Forum in India and 2018 Women Economy Forum, The Hague, Netherlands. Carol Hanlon was invited by the NGO Commission Status Women (NGO CSW) Forums United Nations, New York during CSW56, CSW59, CSW60 and CSW61 and CSW62 to deliver NGO forums for 5 years on the economic empowerment of women in small business. 

Carol was inducted in the Inaugural 2011 WA Women’s Hall of Fame for her passion and commitment with micro small business owners to achieve their business dreams and in 2015 was announced national winner in the ‘Empowering women in a community or organisation in Australia’. 

Ms Hanlon’s contribution to the globally recognised Annual Women’s Economic Forum (WEF), in New Delhi, India includes the following activities:

Session - Discover Opportunities in Perth, Western Australia

Ms Hanlon said, “At the session, Discover Opportunities in Perth, Western Australia, I will have the opportunity to promote Perth, WA as a future destination and bid to bring a regional Women Economic Forum to Perth in 2019. We are calling for sponsors, supporters, potential speakers and delegates to visit Perth and discover opportunities to meet and network with like-minded inspirational women, identify new business opportunities and take time after the Forum to experience WA’s natural attractions, gourmet foods and high-quality wines.”

Prior to attending and presenting at the Annual WEF forum, Ms Hanlon will be a guest speaker at Hindtex, an artisan textile event in Bada Lappur, Varanasi on April 22nd and April 23rd, 2018. She will be speaking on 2 panel sessions on:

  • How creativity and media promotion help in promoting heritage weaves. How to bring the spotlight on reviving heritage weaves
  • How to create a stable model to promote handloom and handicrafts. How to involve the weavers. 

Ms Hanlon said, “Attending the Annual WEF Forum 2018 in New Delhi, India will promote ordinary women to seek to rise to extraordinary heights, become a place for dreamers and achievers to learn and explore, and a place for living life to its fullest while embracing personal growth.”
