You may have the skills but not the qualifications. If this sounds like you then the Queensland Government has put its hand up to help you.  As part of a program to help Queenslanders gain a qualification you have the opportunity to obtain a Business Certificate based on your work experience. This is a nationally recognised qualification a Certificate III in Business.

Who can apply? All Queensland residents who do not have a Certificate III qualification or higher, you can be employed , self employed or unemployed. All can apply!

How? You can complete an application online of fill in a printed form. If you have existing skills from your experience gained at work in retail, sales, office work or running your own business then a work history/resume and an interview may be all the course work you need to do to gain the qualification.

If you have limited work experience and/or would like to complete some of the units that make up the course, like Workplace health and safety, Customer service skills or improving teamwork you can choose to study online or with printed workbooks.

This offer is unique to Queensland it is an attempt by the government to provide everyone with a base level qualification. You can gain skills in computing or if you have persevered yourself and now already have those skills you will have a piece of paper, a certificate that officially identifies those skills. An important document when making an application for promotion, a change of career or another job. A qualification added to your resume adds credibility and can get you into that all important interview.

What does it cost? The Queensland Government contributes around $1500 towards the cost of the course for a Certificate III in Business qualification, your contribution is just $75 BUT if you mention that you saw the offer in your local paper it will only cost you $25.
