Kate Simpkin returns to Norfolk Island by popular demand 11 - 18 March 2016. In fact each year it feels like a homecoming for Kate and the regular line dancers, as well as a celebration year welcoming new dancers to the island. Kate along with her ‘Back row girl” Vicki make certain that everyone travelling to Norfolk enjoys themselves, it’s the genuine fun, great dancing and good times that encourages dancers to spread the word to other line dancing friends and has them returning again next year. Dancers find the festival has so much to offer with the Kate Simpkin and the Norfolk Island holiday factor.

There’s no doubt a week of line dancing is one of the highlights for keen dancers, but ask any line dancer and they’ll tell you it’s also the attraction of visiting Norfolk Island that makes it a winning combination. A petite island in the South Pacific, Norfolk is renowned for being one of the most friendly places on earth. It offers incredible history, beauty, nature walks, lagoon beaches, delightful cafés and tasty restaurants, shopping (shoes glorious shoes) so that even repeat dancers including Kate! find new activities, eateries and tours on repeat visits

Each year Kate chooses some of her favourite activities, for the organisers to negotiate best deals for Line Dancers and “Socialising with Kate adventures”. Next year sees the line dancers playing barefoot bowls, a bushwalk followed by brunch and bubbly, a mini golf comp with prizes, dressing up for ‘A Night as a Convict’ and dinner at sublime Dinos restaurant.

Locals love having such a fun-loving crowd on the island, the flash mob line dancing at the Sunday markets gets everyone in the groove for a fun week. So it’s time for line dancers to save the date 11-18 March next year. With limited spots available due to the size of the hall we recommend dancers reserve their bootscooting spot as soon as possible.

Non-dancers who would like to visit with their partners or friends are also welcome and will find plenty of sightseeing or island tours to fill in time when dancers attend workshops.

Organisers guarantee a minimum of five line dancing workshops with Kate Simpkin plus two social nights including an Egyptian theme night and a creative Op Shop party night. Included in the holiday package is a welcome barbeque and Norfolk Island style farewell dinner both with entertainment and dancing. The 2016 Norfolk Island festival is destined to be another week of fabulous dancing, lots of socialising and a huge amount of FUN.

There is much to see and do on Norfolk Island: fascinating historic tours, see Kingston which is a World Heritage Listed area, outdoor re-enactments of the Bounty Mutiny (with parts played by actual descendants of Fletcher Christian), ‘Light and Sound’ shows, eco-tours, glass bottom boat coral reef trips, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, dining out in the numerous fine restaurants, bush walking, scenic horse riding, golf on what has been called the world’s most beautiful golf course, bowls, tennis, and squash.
