Competition is hot in the Australia café market with operators looking for ways to keep their flat white drinkers coming back for more.

Cafe’s in Australia are set to grow solidly over the next 5 years according to IBISWorld Industry Report. Industry revenue is expected to grow by 3.2% according to IBIS, meaning many people’s goal of opening a café will become much more attractive.

Sydney Coffee Wholesaler, Black market Roasters has experienced a large growth in the number of enquiries in the last 6 months, with new operators wanting to stock high quality coffee beans. Founder Angus Nicol has pinned this down to “Smart café owners are looking for points of differentiation against the café next door and fresh roasted Coffee Beans, like Black Market Roasters BMR Blend, give them that edge.”

Angus adds “With low barriers to entry, the café market is one where specialisation is the key to success and as we have seen, being the best coffee in the street is no longer a bragging right, it is a necessity for survival.”
