~~~~Not For Profit Accounting Services (NFPAS) is hosting a forum for stakeholders of the NFP sector to address the unprecedented level of change currently facing the industry as well as the significant funding cuts.

The recent 2015 Federal Budget has brought further cuts to the NFP industry, escalating the need for organisations to rethink how they will operate to increase efficiency and attract new revenue streams. This Thursday (21st May) a range of NFP stakeholders will debate and design their future at an event to be held at the Hackney Hotel.

“The writing is literally on the wall for many organisations in the not for profit sector,” says Andrea Petersen, Managing Director of Not for Profit Accounting Specialists. “Innovation and collaborations have to be on Board agendas in order for these NFP organisations to survive. The industry knows it’s a critical time, and hence this forum will provide a range of expertise for NFPs to draw from and identify opportunities for partnerships, social enterprise, change management and creative solutions."

There is a common feeling of paralysis amongst NFPs from the enormity and uncertainty of the challenges they are facing. The constantly changing landscape of funding models, grant reductions, technology advancements, generational change and increasing costs of operating are squeezing NFPs to their limit. 

The intention is to germinate seeds of innovation that will lead to a reinvention of business models to secure growth and success, future proofing the nfp sector.

CEO of Meals on Wheels Sharyn Broer, who will be a speaker at the forum, commented that “collaboration and changing the way organisations see themselves and their resources will be vital to their survival”.

The program is intentionally interactive and designed to bring you real life success stories and failures,so that everyone can share in others' experiences. A number of excellent speakers have been secured to tell their stories and share their wisdom on the day.

Session 3– Panel: Mergers, Partnerships & Collaborations
Mark Kulinski– CEO of CLASS Inc
Peter Rutter - General Manager Community Development, Beyond Bank
Joe Subic – Consulting Lawyer Lynch Meyer, Corporate & Commercial
Mark will share his merger experiences, Peter will discuss partnerships and collaborations from the point of view of a very large nfp and Joe will cover off on important legal aspects to consider when joining forces with others.
Session 4– Round Table Discussions
After spending the morning being inspired and hearing other’s stories, we will spend the afternoon brainstorming, networking and creating new opportunity ideas. Each table will be facilitated to encourage lively and productive discussions.
